Unveiling Yamaha's 2024 Models Featuring Stunning Anniversary Edition Livery

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, is bursting with enthusiasm as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of their legendary YZ model line by introducing the all-new 2024 50th Anniversary Edition YZ125, YZ250, YZ250F, and YZ450F. These special edition models feature bold heritage livery inspired by the iconic 1990s-era YZ two-strokes, famously ridden by motocross legends like Damon Bradshaw and Jeff Emig. With this nostalgic tribute, Yamaha pays homage to a thrilling and significant chapter in American motocross history, as it marked the closing of the revered two-stroke era.

Having made its debut in 1974, the YZ lineup has consistently represented the pinnacle of motocross technology and off-road performance. From the groundbreaking YZ250 two-stroke to the revolutionary YZ400F four-stroke, as well as pioneering advancements like monoshock suspension, liquid-cooling, exhaust power valves, and cutting-edge four-stroke technology, the YZ has long served as a leading platform for off-road development.

Derek Brooks, Yamaha Motorsports Motorcycle Product Line Manager, expressed the company's sentiment, stating, "As we reflect on the rich history of YZ models, it felt only fitting to commemorate the 50th anniversary with a special livery for 2024. The 90s held a special place in my heart as a teenager, racing on weekends and idolizing my hero, Damon Bradshaw. He not only set the world ablaze with his riding skills but also left a lasting impression with his bike and gear style. There couldn't be a better way to honor the iconic YZ than by paying tribute to this unforgettable era of design."

The new 2024 YZ125 50th Anniversary Edition will be available from dealers this August for $7,299 MSRP. The new 2024 YZ250 50th Anniversary Edition will be available from dealers this August for $8,199 MSRP. Introducing the 2024 Yamaha YZ250F

For years, the celebrated YZ250F has been the cornerstone of Yamaha's off-road racing success, reigning at the pinnacle of the fiercely competitive 250cc class. It has garnered victory after victory in press shootouts and secured over a dozen Supercross and Motocross championships since 2014. Now, the 2024 YZ250F makes its grand entrance with extensive updates, purposefully crafted to elevate its class-leading performance and capability to unprecedented heights.

Beneath its sharp and aggressive new YZ styling lies a refined, well-balanced, and competition-ready powerhouse. The lighter and more compact chassis enhances handling and offers a more comfortable riding position. A revised intake path enhances mid- to high-rpm performance, while the advanced new generation Yamaha Power Tuner App simplifies customization, making it more intuitive than ever.

At the core of this exceptional machine is a completely redesigned aluminum bilateral beam frame, influenced by its class-dominating YZ450F sibling. This frame strikes the perfect harmony between strength and flexibility, delivering impeccable stability and cornering performance. The result is a machine that handles with finesse, exudes a lightweight feel, and gains increased front wheel traction, empowering riders to tackle corners with heightened confidence and explore more racing lines.

Further updates to the chassis include revised suspension internals, precisely matched to complement the new frame. The class-leading, fully adjustable KYB® coil spring-type fork with speed-sensitive damping ensures exceptional balance between handling and bump absorption, paving the way for championship-winning performance. This fork also introduces a hand-adjustable knob for quick, toolless compression adjustments. The linkage-type rear suspension features a revised KYB® shock, working in harmony with the updated front suspension to minimize pitch during corner entry and exit, thus enhancing overall stability.

Taking inspiration from the flagship YZ450F, the 2024 YZ250F boasts a slimmer, flatter body design, fostering enhanced rider movement. Features like a lower airbox, flatter seat, and narrower fuel tank and radiator shrouds contribute to improved rider comfort. Moreover, the rider triangle is optimized, allowing increased legroom between the seat and footpegs for an even better riding experience.

The YZ250F's advanced four-stroke engine, renowned for its broad, usable powerband and class-leading low-end and mid-range torque, receives upgrades for 2024. A high-spec piston, aggressive cam profiles, and a forward positioned intake cylinder head layout elevate the engine's performance. The updated body design fosters a more efficient intake path, combined with revised ECU settings, resulting in even greater mid- to high-end power.

To grant riders the ability to fine-tune the engine's performance according to their preferences and riding conditions, the new YZ250F is fully compatible with Yamaha's next-generation Power Tuner App. This cutting-edge app allows detailed air/fuel mixture and ignition timing adjustments via smartphone, making customization a breeze. An intuitive "Simple Tuning" slide bar simplifies the engine mapping process, enabling riders to effortlessly switch between smoother or more aggressive power character settings for quick adjustments. The app also boasts a range of monitoring features, including maintenance and system diagnosis, engine run time, lap times, and track set-up information. Additionally, helpful new engine and suspension tuning guides assist in achieving the perfect setup.

As Yamaha continues its legacy of innovation, the 2024 YZ250F introduces additional features to enhance performance. The all-new Traction Control System communicates wheel slip to the ECU, maintaining optimal rear wheel traction. Riders can choose from three selectable levels: HIGH, LOW, or OFF. Additionally, the updated Launch Control System features an adjustable rpm limiter, allowing riders to optimize launches when the starting gate drops by adjusting it in 500 rpm increments between 6,000 rpm and 14,000 rpm. Both systems can be seamlessly managed through the Yamaha Power Tuner App.

With meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful updates, Yamaha is determined to elevate the unparalleled racing pedigree of the YZ250F to an extraordinary level of performance, pushing the boundaries of off-road racing prowess.

Introducing the 2024 Yamaha YZ450FX

Yamaha sets its sights on the flagship of the Cross Country lineup for 2024 with the all-new YZ450FX four-stroke. Born from the acclaimed YZ450F motocrosser, the 2024 YZ450FX is meticulously engineered to dominate cross country competition. Boasting a lighter, slimmer, and more compact design, along with improved rider ergonomics, a revised chassis, a more potent engine, and the next-generation Yamaha Power Tuner app, it inherits the finest attributes of the YZ450F. In addition, specific enhancements tailored for cross country performance elevate this powerhouse to new heights, including a wide-ratio transmission, increased fuel capacity, low fuel warning light, 18-inch rear wheel, side stand, skid plate, revised ECU and suspension settings, and a 10mm lower seat height, enhancing maneuverability in challenging off-road conditions.

The remarkable changes begin with a completely redesigned four-stroke engine, characterized by its lighter, more compact profile, higher revving capability, and overall enhanced power delivery across the entire rev range. Notable updates include new exhaust and intake port shapes, larger diameter titanium intake valves, a new forged aluminum piston, redesigned cylinder body, crankshaft, and balancer assembly, a 500 rpm higher rev limit, and a switch from wet sump to dry sump lubrication. Tailored ECU settings cater to the specific demands of cross country and enduro-style racing.

This results in a more compact, lightweight, and robust assembly with smooth engagement and excellent feel. A premium clutch cover with a stylish geometric design minimizes scratching and adds a bold touch. The new wide-ratio transmission, featuring a tri-shaft layout, is both lighter and more compact, boasting gear ratios optimized for cross country conditions.

Furthermore, a lightweight handlebar-mounted switch allows on-the-fly selection of two preloaded engine maps, one standard and one optimized for extreme conditions, which can be further customized within the app.

The 2024 YZ450FX features a new chassis comprising a completely redesigned aluminum bilateral beam frame, meticulously crafted from more than 10 different aluminum components expertly welded together. This affords precise tuning of rigidity and flex characteristics for competition-level performance. The result is a machine with improved handling, a lighter feel, enhanced bump absorption, and increased traction, empowering riders with added confidence while charging into corners.

The rider ergonomics are also upgraded with a slimmer, flatter, and more compact body, featuring a narrower fuel tank and front shrouds, as well as a flatter, rounded seat, allowing for enhanced rider movement and weight shifting, leading to improved control. The rider triangle is optimized, providing increased legroom between the seat and footpegs, along with a revised handlebar position for a more natural stand-up posture.

Maintaining the YZ450FX's best-in-class suspension performance, the industry-leading, fully adjustable KYB® coil spring-type fork with speed-sensitive damping boasts revised settings and a new hand-operated compression clicker for quick, toolless adjustments. The linkage-type KYB® rear shock features specially tuned damping characteristics, harmonizing with the new YZ450FX chassis. These revisions culminate in a 10mm lower seat height and a lower center of gravity, enhancing handling and comfort in the tight, technical sections commonly encountered in enduro racing.
