During a recent ride at Martin's, I had the chance to test a set of XTRIG Triple Clamps. I had been running stock components for a while, so this was a fresh change. These clamps came with a 22mm offset and multiple adjustment points for bar mounts, which allowed me to tweak the setup based on personal preference. For this ride, I went with a neutral setting, placing the mounts in the middle to compare the feel against my usual stock setup.
After putting in a few fast laps, I immediately noticed a difference in the bike’s handling. The front wheel felt more connected to the rest of the bike, especially when cornering. I could feel an increase in traction and feedback during those initial turns, which made the whole ride feel smoother and more responsive. Even though I’m not racing anymore, I can see how these adjustments could make a real impact for those who are still pushing for performance gains.
When comparing the stock clamps to the XTRIG Triple Clamps, the differences became pretty clear. The aftermarket XTRIG clamps have a more refined design. The clamping screws are arranged in a way that they don’t interfere with each other, allowing for more precise torque adjustments. I’m also fairly certain that these clamps are lighter than their OEM counterparts, which might help with overall performance.
In the end, I had mixed feelings about the XTRIG triple clamps but leaned more toward the positive side. For serious racers looking to fine-tune their comfort and handling, I can see the value in these upgrades. The improvements in cornering and front-end feedback are there, but I think they’ll need more time and tuning to shine. With a price tag of around $750, they’re an investment—but one that could be worth it for the right rider.
After this test, I’ll likely list the clamps on MX Locker, giving someone else a chance to experience their benefits firsthand. Want me to test more items? Leave a comment below with what you’d like me to review and test next!
