Icon Airform Grenadier Helmet

The Icon Airform Helmet is built for riders who need the accouterments of a touring helmet with the performance of a track helmet. Its streamlined and race inspired shell is injection molded polycarbonate for strength. The fog-free Icon Optics Face Shield increases peripheral vision and produces an unmatched distortion-free line of sight so you can keep your eyes on the prize. An internal sun visor drops down to shield your eyes at the flip of a switch.

Together with the airflow channels formed in the EPS liner Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a rigid, energy absorbing foam. In the helmet industry, EPS is the most common means of energy management to protect the brain. Generic EPS is often referred to as “Styrofoam” (a trademarked name owned by the Dow Chemical Company). Premium helmet producers utilize multi-density EPS liners to balance comfort, safety and performance. , the Hydradry moisture-wicking interior keeps your head dry on those hot days when no oasis is in sight. A sculpted neck roll lets you move into and out of the tuck position without as much interference with your jacket, one less thing to distract you while you are riding. Speaker pockets make it easy to install Icon's R.A.U. Bluetooth Communicator so you can stay connected.

• All world standard, meets or exceeds the following: DOT FMVSS 218 (US), ECE 22-05 The ECE 22.05 (Economic Commission for Europe) standard is quite a bit younger than the current DOT standard and, in many ways, offers a more comprehensive battery of testing than its American cousin. ECE standards test for safety features that can contribute to avoiding an accident altogether, such as the optical quality of approved face shields and safety factors not directly related to impact, such as shell rigidity. Unlike the DOT, every ECE 22.05 certified helmet model must actually be tested against the standard by an independent lab before it is available for sale with an ECE sticker.
