Overview Vespa 150 VB1
The Vespa 150 VB1 was the successor to the VL ("Struzzo") in the 150cc Model category. Until the production of the Vespa 150 GS in 1961, it was the last wideframe model from Piaggio. In 1958, it was replaced in its displacement class by the VBA, which was equipped with a Disc Valve and a largeframe for the first time.
Model history of the Vespa 150 VB1
Significant changes were made to the frame of the 150 VB compared to the predecessor model: Wires and cables now ran in the frame tunnel all the way to the Handlebar, which was now designed as a closed handlebar made of die-cast aluminium, similar to the Vespa GS/3 - bringing the era of tubular handlebars to an end. However, the design of the speedometer with the white Face Plate and the red Control Light on the Steering Head, as on the Struzzo, were retained.
The Vespa 150 VB1 Engine
The Engine of the Vespa 150 VB was identical to that of the "Struzzo", but a Dellorto MA19D Carburettor was used on the 150 VB.
Used Vespa 150 VB1 situation
On the used market, the Vespa 150 VB is priced in the middle segment, although it is not as expensive as the previous models. Where do you look for this vehicle?

Miscellaneous Vespa 150 VB1
The Brake Pedal, the Headlight ring, the Lock of the Glovebox Door and the Vespa Badge were chrome-plated.
The Steering Lock was matt nickel-plated.
The brake and Clutch Lever, the Seating of the Light Switch as well as the shift element on the Handlebar and the decorative fin on the Mudguard were highly polished.
The kickstand and its Spring, the front shock absorber Spring, the Washer of the Kickstart Lever, as well as Rim and wheel nuts and all external Screws were galvanised.
The rear Shock Absorber, the rear suspension Springs and the engine bolts were phosphatised.
From frame number *61421 onwards, the old fuel tap with boom and Gauge Glass was replaced by a smaller fuel tap with a long ventilation tube.
The vehicle was also equipped with a rectangular-rounded Veglia speedometer with a white dial up to 90 km/h.
