Like it's name suggests, the Thor Fleet helmet is lightweight so you can remain agile while tearing it up offroad. The polycarbonate/ABS shell is strong and durable - featuring a premium dual-density EPS liner Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a rigid, energy absorbing foam. In the helmet industry, EPS is the most common means of energy management to protect the brain. Generic EPS is often referred to as “Styrofoam” (a trademarked name owned by the Dow Chemical Company). Premium helmet producers utilize multi-density EPS liners to balance comfort, safety and performance. and Energy Reduction Technology Energy Reduction Technology (ERT) incorporates soft advanced polymer pads into the helmet to help manage both rotational and linear impact energy. Patented ERT pads mitigate impacts through both their unique material properties and their refined geometry. Unlike most impact energy management materials which do not deform and dissipate energy below a certain force threshold, ERT responds instantly, even at low speeds, to protect the brain from impact.
