Featuring a multi-layered and adaptive impact system, the Formula Helmet incorporates advanced technologies aimed not only at reducing skull fractures but also at mitigating the risk of serious concussions.

Fly's Impact Energy Cells, enhanced with RHEON RHEON technology is an energy-absorbing super polymer. It is soft and flexible in its natural state but absorbs energy by stiffening when subjected to force. In helmets, RHEON is crafted into a "metamaterial" using carefully developed geometry combined with the active polymer to reduce the forces transferred to the brain. The unique anisotropic shape allows the cells to absorb energy differently in compression and shear. The adaptive chemistry of RHEON maximizes absorption of low-speed linear and rotational impact energy depending on the severity and direction of an impact. , serve as the helmet's primary line of defense. Utilizing RHEON’s innovative viscoelastic material, these Impact Energy Cells improve energy dissipation upon impact through seven strategically positioned energy cells inside the helmet. For additional protection, Fly has combined their patented Conehead EPS technology with expanded volume EPS in six critical zones, each engineered to respond appropriately to both low and high-speed impacts. As a further benefit, the Conehead EPS design results in a softer and lighter foam, enhancing helmet comfort by reducing overall weight while increasing its ability to absorb impact forces across a variety of impact scenarios.
