The goal of the Alpinestars Supertech family of helmets was to develop the most advanced, protective and performance enhancing helmets available for riders worldwide. With the S-M10, Alpinestars’ Helmet Development team engineered a helmet that offers an ideal combination of excellent ventilation and exceptional comfort, resulting in a lightweight design without compromising safety or performance.

The S-M10’s design features a smooth, aesthetically pleasing and aerodynamic profile that is streamlined and free of external channels or features that could serve as load points during impact or compromise the overall integrity of the helmet. Its curved surface minimizes friction upon impact, facilitating deflection and optimizing energy transfer to better protect the rider’s head from direct force to the skull, as well as safeguarding the neck and spinal column.

• Equipped with Mips® safety system How does the Mips® safety system work? The brain is typically more sensitive to rotational motion than linear motion because it has shear properties similar to water or gel. When different parts of the brain move relative to each other because of rotational motion, the tissues can stretch, which can cause concussions or other brain injuries. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions and more severe brain injury in oblique hits to the head. The Mips® safety system consists of a low friction layer mounted inside the helmet. In a crash, the low friction layer is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. This is intended to help reduce the risk of brain injury.

• DOT and ECE 22.06 ECE 22.06 is a helmet safety rating that extends and increases the testing requirements of ECE 22.05 (with 22.05 being a more modern, more comprehensive European alternative to DOT). With 22.06, 12 additional impact points are analyzed (now totaling 18) and impact speed is increased (from 7.5 to 8.2 m/s).
