The Icon Ultraflite Helmet combines strength, safety and comfort in a lightweight handcrafted composite shell. Designed for clear vision in all conditions, it features a fog-free Drop shield Ultra with an exterior switch, a quick-change Ultrashield and includes both a Dark Smoke fog-free shield and a clear Pinlock A Pinlock lens is made to enjoy a fog-free ride. It is based on two key principles to ensure a fog-free vision. The moisture absorbing surface of the lens effectively attracts and stores water molecules, while the airtight seal creates a thermal barrier together preventing condensation of the visor. Safety is paramount with the Mips® safety system How does the Mips® safety system work? The brain is typically more sensitive to rotational motion than linear motion because it has shear properties similar to water or gel. When different parts of the brain move relative to each other because of rotational motion, the tissues can stretch, which can cause concussions or other brain injuries. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions and more severe brain injury in oblique hits to the head. The Mips® safety system consists of a low friction layer mounted inside the helmet. In a crash, the low friction layer is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. This is intended to help reduce the risk of brain injury. and Emergency Release Cheek Pads, while the HydraDry and AxSude comfort liner ensures a snug, moisture-wicking fit. Ventilation is optimized with multiple oversized intake and exhaust ports and a recessed twin-channel SuperVent system.
