He is now off all medications, including pain medication, and is walking almost completely without the assistance of a cane. His strength and determination have been nothing short of inspiring. While Kyle’s memory continues to improve each day, his brain injury still requires serious care, attention, and ongoing rehabilitation. This Monday, Kyle will undergo another major surgery to replace the portion of his skull that was removed following his injury. Once he is medically cleared and released, Kyle will return home to Las Vegas, where the hard work will continue. He will participate in physical rehabilitation with the UFC and receive specialized neurological rehabilitation at a brain injury facility in Las Vegas. The hope is that by October 1, Kyle will be able to continue healing and rebuilding his life with greater independence—but recovery does not follow a schedule.
