The Story:
This WR450F originally belonged to a dear friend who passed away. I brought it home intending to learn trail riding, but quickly discovered that this legendary 450 is far more machine than I need. Having grown up with horses rather than dirt bikes, I quickly realized this torque monster is better suited for an experienced rider than a beginner.

2003 Electric-Start Information:
WR enthusiasts know that 2003 was the first year Yamaha offered electric start on the WR450F. As delivered from the factory, these bikes did not yet include the later starter torque-limiter update.

This bike remains completely original, and the electric starter functions properly with no issues. Because of its exceptionally original condition, I've preferred using the kickstarter to preserve its factory-stock survivor status. Buyers planning extensive riding can easily install the later Yamaha update if desired.

Most WR450Fs from this era have thousands of miles, aftermarket modifications, race scars, worn engine cases, and hard off-road use. This bike still presents the way enthusiasts wish they all did.
